The Virtual MotivAider® app is designed to assist users of all ages in implementing positive changes to their behaviors and habits.

This application seeks to mirror much of the functionality provided by the original MotivAider®, a straightforward electronic device developed by a clinical psychologist. Since its introduction in 1987, the MotivAider® has supported thousands of individuals across over 50 countries in achieving a diverse array of behavioral modifications.

Similar to the MotivAider® device, the Virtual MotivAider® addresses a common cognitive oversight: the absence of a reliable mechanism to keep good intentions actively present in one’s mind. The app delivers repeated signals or prompts that both remind and motivate users to act in alignment with their specified behavioral objectives, thus preventing their intentions from being overlooked amidst daily distractions.

To utilize the app, users begin by creating a personalized message—whether a word, phrase, or image—that acts as a motivational trigger for specific actions linked to their goals. This personal message can then be paired with the app’s signals or prompts so that, upon receiving them, users are reminded of their commitment and encouraged to take the necessary steps. Users have the flexibility to configure the frequency of these prompts to ensure optimal reinforcement.

Virtually intuitive, the Virtual MotivAider® eschews unnecessary features that could detract from its primary purpose: maintaining focus on the desired behavioral changes.

The Virtual MotivAider® offers several customizable options:
<ul>
 <li>Select preferred types of prompts, including vibration signals, recorded sounds (using your own voice), or text notifications featuring your personal message.</li>
 <li>Set the frequency of prompts as needed, ranging from intervals of mere seconds to once daily.</li>
 <li>Choose between Regular intervals (e.g., every 5 minutes), Average intervals (e.g., between 15 minutes to 1 hour with an average of 30 minutes), or Random intervals (e.g., spanning from 10 seconds to 10 minutes apart).</li>
 <li>Determine how long prompting will continue before it stops automatically.</li>
 <li>Pause and resume prompting at your convenience.</li>
 <li>Create and save multiple behavior change projects, though focusing on one at a time is recommended for best results.</li>
 <li>Access free habit change resources similar to those available for users of the dedicated MotivAider® device.</li>
</ul>
